London's immersive art experience that doubles up as a DJ venue
Ever wanted to fuel your love for art and culture but find traditional art galleries a bit tiresome, well the latest addition to London’s nightlife may be for you.
That’s exactly how I felt, and have felt growing up in a creative family, I can appreciate the big names - we’re talking about Van Gogh, Monet, Dali, and Rembrandt - but sometimes the actual experience of walking around a multi-floor museum or gallery can feel endless.

This is where London’s immersive gallery Frameless comes in, offering displays of the industry’s biggest pieces of history in a re-designed way. And, it’s just started a new ‘Lates’ event, offering 18+ only tickets to view the galleries, accompanied by a fully stocked bar and live DJ. The bar is the hub of the intertwining galleries, in the day it’s an art-deco-like cafe while at night it transforms.

Tickets can be bought online at Ticketmaster, and the Lates events run every week on Friday and Saturday nights. If this isn’t for you then there are standard tickets available, with ticket types including family bundles, adults, parents & toddlers and even sensory classes.
Displays are set on a 20-minute-timers, these are snippets from the Art of Abstraction and Beyond Reality galleriesFrom surround sound projections, dramatically composed music, reactive lighting, and digital artwork on the floor that reacts to the spectator's footsteps. If you take a seat in one of its more intimate galleries (like the first Beyond Reality) the moving screens and pop up will feel as though the artwork is moving around you - as immersive as it can get without being able to touch it.
Reviewing for our local site MyLondon we visited the captivating experience, and even half-an-hour in the space (there is no time limit on the tickets) is enough time for anyone to fall in love with art. Our reviewer said: “It's safe to say that I could have spent the full day absorbed in the different rooms at Frameless, and that's coming from someone who's never really been completely enamoured with it (generally speaking).
“The experience that's created, from walking into different themed rooms, the cinematics, carefully composed music, sound effects and textures - it's more than just a gallery.
“It's one of those things where you can simply stand or sit back and absorb it in your own way, nod off to the music, focus on the lights, or take out a notebook and draw some of Dali's signature melting clock, which I saw one young girl doing.”
As you may be able to tell from its name, the space takes the traditional hung-style of art from its rows of picture frames to galleries filled to the brim with character - whether it’s the rush of Rembrandt’s Christ in the Storm on the Lake of Galilee dramatically rushing through the room, or Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory melting on the walls.
There are four galleries to explore; Beyond Reality, Colour in Motion, The World Around Us and The Art of Abstraction not forgetting its residency space in the Blank Canvas room. It’s here where it’s currently showing ‘Samsara’ curated by alumni of London’s Royal College of Art.
Each different space offers a different feel depending on the theme of each room, where the pieces roll on a loop. The Beyond Reality gallery for Surrealism, Symbolism, and Post-Impression work, bold abstract works in the Art of Abstraction gallery, head into Colour in Motion for Neo and Post-Impressionism, or a dramatic cinematic feel in the Renaissance works on display in the World Around Us gallery.
