Gary Goldsmith has been spotted merrily walking around London after his Celebrity Big Brother exit.

On Friday night, the 58-year-old businessman - most famous for being the uncle of Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42 - became the first star to be voted out of ITV’s famous reality show house. And while Gary was in distress hours before his Celebrity Big Brother eviction, he looked in good spirits as he strolled around London as he reintegrated into life in the real world.

Gary was one of the twelve stars taking part in ITV’s revived version of Celebrity Big Brother - along with other celebs including former This Morning host Fern Britton, 66, and former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, 71. On Saturday, he was seen in London wearing a pair of flamboyant tartan trousers and a simple white jumper. He donned a pair of glasses and walked around in white trainers.

He may have ignored style advice from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard, however, as the 31-year-old met the businessman on Celebrity Big Brother Late and Live on Friday night. Mocking Gary’s fashion sense, Danny said: “Top tip from a drag queen, don’t wear that white turtleneck again. You look like Colonel Sanders. I thought he was going to share a five-secret recipe! You look nicer in denim.”

While Gary wasn’t wearing a turtleneck on Saturday, he did wear white. Before his eviction, Gary opened up to his fellow housemates to share his frustration about being regarded by the general public as a villain.

He dug deep during a show task in which Fern asked him a searching question. She asked: “ top tip from a drag queen, don’t wear that white turtleneck again. You look like Colonel Sanders. I thought he was going to share a five-secret recipe! You look nicer in denim.

“From one day I was Gary, a businessman, having a laugh with a great family and in a good place. The next minute, I’m a national villain because, erm.. if any of you thought to Google me, it is just s**t. But it’s not me. So I really don’t know what true peace is. If I’m honest.” He then shed tears and hinted the question had taken him emotionally by surprise. Fern expressed concern for Gary and said: “I think we all say May peace be with you. Thank you!”

The other housemates were less sympathetic, however, as Sharon and 71-year-old Louis Walsh criticised him while they sat together and watched Gary take part in a yoga session. Sharon exhaled: “Oh here he goes.” And Louis then exclaimed: “Oh no. F**k off.” Sharon then said: “He’s hugely uncomfortable in his own skin. He needs to go into therapy, big time. He needs to get it all out, his insecurities. Everything.” While Louis accurately predicted Gary would lose the public vote and be evicted from the house, saying: “No chance. He will be gone tomorrow.”
