Kate Garraway was missing from both Good Morning Britain and Smooth Radio on Friday morning as her health woes continue.

The TV presenter, 56, sparked concern among viewers this week when she failed to show up to her ITV hosting duties on Good Morning Britain. Then, on Friday morning, she was nowhere to be heard on Smooth Radio as fellow presenter Tina Hobley filled in her colleague who has been dealing with health issues this week.

Kate, who usually hosts the radio show from 10am every weekday, abandoned her morning radio show on Wednesday just 30 minutes in and hasn't been seen on TV or heard on radio since. Kate kicked off her scheduled 10am to 1pm Smooth Radio slot as usual, playing an Ed Sheeran track following by a Paul Young classic.

However, after adverts aired around half an hour into the programme, Kate's Smooth Radio co-star Tina stepped in to host the GMB presenter's show. She told fans that Kate had been "sent home" as her voice had "completely gone".

Before Kate departed her radio show, listeners shared their concern for Kate's voice on X, formerly known as Twitter, as one wrote: "Take peppermint and chamomile, it helps. Also, take lots of water preferably lemon water. Sorry. You'll be okay."

After Tina took over, the same listener added: "Heyyy @TinaHobley for a moment I thought the APP had a problem... Nice to have you sit in for KG. She needs voice rest." Kate was then missing from her usual spot on GMB on Thursday, with Ranvir Singh stepping in to host alongside Richard Madeley.

Kate's reasons for missing the show on Friday too have now been revealed. Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins explained what has happened to Kate and why she has missed her TV commitments over the past few days. Charlotte confirmed Kate was a little under the weather, after her radio co-star Tina previously suggested Kate had lost her voice.

Charlotte confirmed this on GMB on Friday, admitting Kate was meant to be on the show amid her being named one of Britain's 50 most influential women by the Independent. Charlotte and Adil sent their best wishes to their pal, as they confirmed she was doing ok but was "unable to speak".

Charlotte said to viewers: "She would be here today but she's lost her voice. She's all well but she can't speak." Adil joked: "She's lost her voice, she's been too influential in the past year."

She went on: "I know, she obviously has been hasn't she." Adil then said: "Be less influential Kate and get better soon." GMB fans had been worried on Thursday when Kate was a no-show.
