Xbox Game Pass subscribers now know what games are coming for the rest of February, but that hasn't stopped Microsoft from surprising players, as Dead Island 2 has now arrived unannounced.

While Microsoft has made once again made headlines by announcing that some Xbox exclusives are coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch, it's business as usual for Xbox Game Pass, as some brand new games have been announced for the rest of February (and one in March, as a treat). Titles in the new batch include Bandai Namco RPG Tales of Arise – which also arrived on PS Plus Extra this month – and the return of Indie hit Indivisible and Shark 'em' up Maneater.

However, out of nowhere, Dead Island 2 – which was only released 10 months ago – has also now arrived on Xbox Game Pass, with Xbox Wire's post announcing the game's arrival on Xbox Game Pass earlier this week. However, there is some bad news, because the game is only available for subscribers on Xbox consoles and cloud, and there's no PC version available via the subscription service.

Dead Island 2 was originally an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, with a Steam version being confirmed to launch on the game's first anniversary – April 22, 2024 – so perhaps Xbox Game Pass PC subscribers can expect it to arrive in a couple of months when the exclusivity dries up.
