Robert Irwin has celebrated the life of his late father Steve with a sweet video on social media, leaving fans sobbing.

Steve was a beloved Australian wildlife expert and TV presenter who was best known as the Crocodile Hunter. The TV star was raised in Queensland Australia and spent most of his life surrounded by various creatures, that most people fear. He made several appearances on wildlife shows before fronting a number of his own animal documentaries. The much-loved TV star led a colourful and adventurous life before his death and was a doting father to his two children.

Tragically, Irwin died at the age of 44 from an injury caused by a stingray while filming an underwater documentary in the Great Barrier Reef. on September 4, 2006, leaving behind his two kids Bindi and Robert, and his wife Terri Raines. His fans were left shocked at the news of his sudden passing, which dominated headlines at the time.

His son shares the same passion for adventure and recently revealed that he has kept his dad's old motorbike. Robert, 20, took to his Instagram page on Thursday to share home video footage of his famous dad exploring the Irwin's Australia Zoo on a motorcycle, leaving fans emotional. He said: "Some of my fondest and earliest memories were on that bike," Robert said in the video which he called 'The story of Dad's motorbike."

"It brings back so many memories," Robert said. "Every time I get on that bike and ride the same route around Australia Zoo he did, it means so much that this piece of machinery that he loved and used everyday."

Robert also shared a snap of his sister Bindi sharing the motorcycle seat with her brother while Steve steers. He penned: "I have so many connections to dad that are still around to this day that I get to continue his legacy in so many different ways."

Fans were left emotional, with some sharing their comforting messages to Robert. One person said: "OMG crying," while another added: "So heartwarming." A third person said:" Carrying your dad’s legacy while still paving your own path. Good on ya!" A fourth person added: "Thank you for sharing every special moment."

It comes after Robert recently revealed that he thinks about his late father Steve every day and often wishes he could ask him for advice. He candidly admitted: "There isn't a day that goes by I don't think, "I wonder what I'd ask Dad if he was here." There are so many things I wish I could ask him on so many levels."
