Steve Irwin's wife has given a glimpse into the young family's life in an emotional video.

Terri took to her social media to post the never before seen clips in tribute to her late husband to commemorate 'Steve Irwin Day'. The heartbreaking video sees the Australian zookeeper and conservationist walk hand-in-hand with his son Robert and daughter Bindi. In the clips toddler Robert pretended to be a buffalo and charge at his dad and sister, as Steve protects Bindi.

The trio were then seen running up hills and riding bikes in the montage. Terri captioned her post: "Steve was all about family, conservation, and fun. Let’s all celebrate Steve Irwin Day." Fans were full of emotion in the comments as one said: "I will never NOT be sad about the world losing this man."

Steve Irwin Day marks the day at Australia Zoo "honours the life and legacy of the greatest Wildlife Warrior that ever lived". They celebrate with a range of activities at the zoo and the date is said to have been chosen because it falls on the birthday of Steve's favourite animals, Harriet the Galapagos land tortoise.

Steve tragically died at the age 44 when he was fatally stung by a stingray in September 2006. A proud dad of two, Irwin’s son and daughter were just three and eight years old at the time. His children have been carrying on their father's legacy through conservation work and Robert recently achieved an incredible milestone that his late father contributed to.

The 19-year-old revealed that his life dream came true and all he could think of at the time was his late dad Steve as he released a baby Elseya Irwini turtle into its new enclosure at the Irwin Zoo on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. The young conservationist's late father Steve first discovered the freshwater turtle species in the late 90s and it was named in his honour.

Fighting back tears as he paid tribute to his late dad, Robert said that the special moment was all down to the man who couldn't be there to see it happen. “This is the first-ever Elseya Irwini turtle ever hatched for any zoological facility anywhere in the world. Dad originally discovered this species in the wild and, for the first time, we have a little baby and he’s going to get his first swim in a brand new pond," he said.

Wildlife lover Robert then released the newborn turtle into the water before he became emotional thinking about his late father during the special moment. “Dad would be stoked, we did it,” Robert said as he fought back tears.
