There's nothing like a good cuppa to get the day started properly.

But what would you do if there was none of your favourite blends on the shelves? One tea enthusiast, who has been left fuming after hearing of the UK tea shortage, has offered savvy shoppers hundreds of pounds if they can source her favourite tea because she's gaspin' for a brew.

The woman known as Christina W, took to the website Airtasker to make the offer after hearing the news, and the 'task budget' was set at a whopping £200. "The price covers the cost of purchasing the tea, transport/delivery costs and payment", she penned.

On Airtasker, the Greater London-based woman wrote: "Hello, I'm an avid tea drinker and just seen the news of the national tea shortage. I probably drink 6-8 cups a day and there are already no Tetley in my local shop. I am looking for someone to source me 15 of the biggest bags/boxes of Tetley they can find as I am already running low."

Unsurprisingly due to the high price tag she'd attached to the task, the offers of tea-purchasing came rolling in. One person said: "Good morning. I can get these delivered for you within a week. This will be for 6600 Tetley tea bags in total 6 bags of 1100. If you would like me to do this for you, please confirm, and I will send these out to you. Firstly, you will need to release the payment so I can receive the payment to make the purchase, which takes around 3 working days.

"I am reliable and can ensure this will be guaranteed. Please see my reviews for reference of my work. Thank you."

Another replied: "Hi, I can get this done for you on your allocated date. I'm based in Isleworth. Will you need me to provide anything? Please let me know the specifics. I'd be more than happy to help. Please do get back to me at your earliest convenience."

The lack of tea bags on shelves has occurred due to supply issues caused by Houthi rebel attacks in the Red Sea. A notice was seen in a Manchester branch of Sainsbury's that read: "We are experiencing supply issues affecting the nationwide supply of black tea. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to be back in full supply soon."
