This Morning's Alison Hammond in disbelief over Lorraine Kelly's real age
Alison Hammond was left in disbelief over Lorraine Kelly's real age on Thursday's This Morning.
The legendary ITV broadcaster appeared on the chat show with Alison, 49, and Dermot O'Leary to talk about her new debut book, The Island Swimmer, which is inspired by the Orkney Islands. However, chat soon got onto Lorraine's age and life with Alison left stunned.
Talking about her reason behind the book, Lorraine said: "I've always wanted to do it, this just felt like the right time. I felt I was ready, we were just talking and I'm 65 this year!" Alison was quick to interrupt Lorraine as she exclaimed: "I don't believe you're 65! It's not true!"
To which a giggling Lorraine responded: "That's the right thing to say, Alison!" Talking about her book further, Lorraine said: "It felt like the right time, I've really loved doing it. I've found what I really want to do, it's amazing."
Discussing her career, the Scottish presenter added: "I've been very lucky, very lucky! I just feel incredibly lucky, I still love it, it's like you two [Alison and Dermot], every single day is a different and every day is a school day. I've got a team of all ages, the young ones keep me young, keep me right" adding that her daughter, Rosie Smith, 29, helps teach her technology.

When Owl was unmasked as none other than Lorraine, show host Joel Dommett exclaimed: "This might be one of the best reveals we've ever had on the show!"
The legendary presenter said after her reveal: "I've loved being Owl, I've loved every single second, the show is so joyful." Talking about why she signed up, she admitted: "I just wanted to have a bit of fun to kick off the year and to be a bit silly. I've never had a chance to sing in front of an audience before, and I thought if I was behind a mask it wouldn't be as scary."
Lorraine admitted she was shocked the judges didn't pick up on her Scottish accent, she said: "I was astounded that the panel didn't get me right away because I thought they would hear my Scottish accent. I worked really quite hard to try and not be too Scottish, but I thought they would get me right away, and I thought it was hilarious who they were saying. It was really funny. I was really pleased that they didn't get me."
