Dancing on Ice's Ryan Thomas shares what saved him after double fall humiliation
Ryan Thomas has thanked the Dancing On Ice live audience for getting him through the most recent episode - where he suffered the humiliation of falling over twice.
The 39-year-old soap actor is one of the celebrities taking part in ITV’s long-running winter sport reality contest. He is paired with 26-year-old professional figure skater Amani Fancy - and they have been on the receiving end of mediocre scores from the judges.
Sunday night saw the celebrities and professional skaters perform routines with a musicals theme - with Ryan and Amani performing to the song Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat from the iconic Broadway musical Guys and Dolls. While the duo looked excited to show off their routine, disaster struck when they took to the rink.
Ryan, wearing a smart suit for his routine, stacked it on the ice twice during the performance. While his skate toe pick was blamed for the unfortunate falls, he has now addressed the incident - and thanked the live audience for supporting him through the blunders.

He wrote alongside the clip: "I don’t want to shy away from my mistakes. I have to own it, learn from it, move on, reset & go again!

"It’s was a tough one to swallow at the time but i have to say a massive thank you to everyone in the audience last night, you really did get me through it. After the second fall I wanted the ground to swallow me up but hearing all your cheers give me the courage to finish it!
"And to everyone at home who voted from the bottom of my heart, thank you! I honestly didn’t expect it, it really meant a lot." He added: "Can’t believe I’ve got to do it all again on Sunday."
Fans were quick to encourage Ryan to keep trying - with some declaring that he was now their winner. Kelly Brook was among those backing the former Coronation Street star to win. The model wrote in response to Ryan's post: "Your brilliant and that shines through! Ryan to Win," she gushed, alongside a string of clapping hand emojis.
And former professional skater Matt Evers - who quit the series last year - also offered his support to Ryan. He wrote: “I can’t even count the number of times I’ve fallen on the ice throughout my professional career. It’s a part of the process and you got up and carried on and didn’t give up… that’s how you win. Keep going brother…. You got this!”
Show host Holly Willoughby checked on Ryan at the time of his fall - as the show airs live. The 42-year-old presenter said: "Oh Ryan my heart goes out to you, it was going so so well, and then you just had those moments... just to check you haven't hurt yourself or anything like that." He replied: "No I've not hurt myself," but admitted: "I just hope my kids aren't watching this one because it's very embarrassing."
