Traitors runner-up Mollie has last laugh after being duped by Harry
She may have been duped by her “bestie” Harry Clark in the epic finale of The Traitors, but Mollie Pearce is having the last laugh.
The disabled model, 22, who finished as runner-up on the hit BBC One show is set for a career boost.
She has not only proved herself an all round good sport next to traitor Harry, who tricked her to walk away with £95,000, but she has had modelling offers flying in.
Born in Bristol with missing fingers on her right hand, she was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of 11 resulting in an ileostomy to remove her colon. She now wears a stoma bag following a life-changing surgery at 18 to treat her ulcerative colitis.
Talking of why she wanted to be a model to OK!, she says: “When I was 17 I walked into Primark and saw a campaign image of a model with one arm...I remember saying to my mum that I’d love to do that for other people, to inspire them.”
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessHarry, 23, had told BBC Breakfast he would use some of the cash to take Mollie and her boyfriend Max Backwell on holiday with him and his girlfriend Anna Maynard. But that’s not to be.
In an interview with this week’s OK!, Mollie says: “We’re not going away together. He owes me nothing. He played the game, and he deserved to win that money.”
Which is just what Molly was hoping for.
Talking of why she wanted to be a model, she says: “When I was 17 I walked into Primark and saw a campaign image of a model with one arm... I remember saying to my mum that I’d love to do that for other people, to inspire them.
“Before I started modelling I never really showed off my hand...After I posted about my first shoot, everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, we’re so proud of you’ That response made me want to show it more.”
The disability model had posed for Vogue Portugal and worked with Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger and Kurt Geiger before appearing on the hit show.
Her main reason for doing the hit show was to talk about what she had been through and show others like her that they should celebrate their differences, not hide them.
She also laughed of the social media speculation about their friendship,
“I wish I’d have prepared Max, but I never saw that coming. It’s obviously not very nice for our other halves,” she says.
Mollie on fashion
Q: We’ve decked you out in full ‘Traitorcore’ fashion today. Did you know you helped start that trend?
Bird charity banned from Twitter for repeatedly posting woodcock photosA: I’m not sure I really helped start this trend, it was all Claudia [Winkleman, the show’s host]!
Q: You caused that pink Primark jumper you wore on the show to sell out!
A: I mean, did I make that happen? Was it me? I actually wore that jumper too many times. It was because I had all these outfits planned and the weather was just completely different to what I think any of us thought. I was just wearing outfits again and again!
