Carl Froch responds to John Fury's threat as row threatens to boil over

Carl Froch has warned Tyson Fury's "jealous" dad John that he wouldn't confront him face-to-face after calling him a "s***house".

John was unhappy with comments Froch made about his son Tyson's boxing resume as he told Boxing Social: "That just tells me what kind of a man Carl Froch is. Deontay Wilder was shot to pieces because of the hiding Tyson gave him and how can say Klitschko was a stinker when nobody beat him in 10 years?"

Froch was brutally told by John that he would be "kicked up the a***" if they saw each other in person, but the British boxing legend doesn't think Fury's dad would stay true to his word. "He’s called me ‘A friggin’ s***house.’ To me that means someone is a bottle job, scared to fight anybody. Have a look at my CV I’ll fight anybody," Froch said on his YouTube channel.

"I fear nobody, ‘I fear no man born from his mother’, to quote your son. Tyson Fury.” He’s called me a has-been. What’s all this has-been business? That comes from somebody who has never been,. Does that mean every previous world champion, Hall of Famer, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Robert Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, are they all has beens? It’s ridiculous, it comes from a jealous place.

"I’m happy for boxers who paid good money for doing what I think is the hardest job in the world. There’s no jealousy and I’ve never been a has been. Once a champion always a champion. If I’m asked a question about your son, I will give an honest answer. Get over it, Big John. You’re on about kicking me up the arse when you see me. You won’t be kicking anybody. You won’t come near me."

Froch thinks Fury didn't deserve to win in his last fight against Francis Ngannou and has questioned whether the Brit is past his prime. Froch is still hoping Fury can beat Usyk in their undisputed fight despite his feud with John as he wants to see a domestic clash between Fury and Anthony Joshua, who fights Ngannou on March 8.

"He's been dropped five times in his last 70 rounds. Four times by Wilder and once by Ngannou. We've got to question the point Tyson is at in his career. I'd love it if he won the undisputed fight because that keeps the belts in Britain and sets up a fight with Anthony Joshua. It opens doors for British boxing," Froch added.
