Dancing On Ice's Ryan Thomas shares emotional reason he got teary-eyed on show
Dancing On Ice star Ryan Thomas revealed the emotional reason he welled up on Sunday's show.
During the latest episode, which was Movie Week, the former Coronation Street star, 39, transformed into Wonka for a Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory themed routine on the ice. However, during the routine, Ryan unfortunately suffered a few stumbles, which were picked up by the judges. After feedback, Ryan was visibly emotional as he admitted the "pressure gets to you" on the show.
Dancing On Ice star Ryan Thomas revealed the reason he welled up on Sunday's show (ITV)Appearing on Thursday's Lorraine, Ryan admitted he wanted the "ground to swallow him up" following his stumble. Ryan added: "Lorraine, honestly, I had not seen my kids for a week and I came out, I saw my son dressed as Wonka, I started welling up.
"They went: 'Five, four, three... get behind the gate, you're going' and I was trying to hold back the tears at the same time." Talking about his son, Roman, three, who he shares with Lucy Mecklenburgh, dressing up in costume, he gushed: "He's brilliant. I said to him, 'I'm playing Wonka this week' [and he said] 'But daddy, I want to play Wonka!' and I said: 'Okay!'"
It comes as Ryan shared a candid Instagram post earlier this week. Posting a sweet snap with son Roman and daughter Scarlett, 15, who he shares with ex Tina O'Brien. Ryan penned: "I knew something wasn’t right with me yesterday, I’ve put far too much pressure on myself to be the best I can, when really I should just be out there enjoying myself.
