Former Love Islander Zara McDermott has shared her 'favourite hack' for achieving a 'bronzed' and 'glowy' look - and it won't break the bank. The former Love Islander, whose beau is I'm A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson, looked gorgeous as she shared her make up routine to Instagram, starting off bare-faced with her blonde hair slicked back with a headband.

Her secret to a flawless finish, she revealed, is L'Oreal Paris' True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, which can be bought from Lookfantastic for £11.99 - saving £3 on its RRP. The serum is a blend of makeup and skincare with its sheer formula including 1% pure hyaluronic acid and glycerin to keep the skin soft, dewy and hydrated throughout the day. The foundation offers light but blendable coverage to conceal dark spots, blemishes and imperfections without feeling heavy.

Sharing this 'hack', Zara explained what she does to save wearing fake tan on her face - and in turn preventing "blocked pores" and "patchy" skin.

"What I do nowadays," she said, "is I take the L'Oréal Paris True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum - now I've got two colours here, I've got the 5-6 medium tan and a 4-5 medium. This 4-5 medium is perfect for me at the moment.

"It gives that no make up make up [look]. I feel it just gives a really nice glow."

And it's not just Zara who loves this new product - alongside us and Molly-Mae Hague (read why we love it here), the serum has accrued over 320 five star reviews on Lookfantastic's website with many citing how it is a 'holy grail' of foundation that is a godsend for dry skin and has a lovely natural finish.

"I'm almost speechless," said one beauty buff. "I've never owned a skin tint that looks so good on the skin. I actually think I prefer it over the Maybelline one. Much easier to find your shade & looks flawless all day. It is light coverage but it is buildable so good if you're wanting that bit more colour or coverage on certain areas. Makes skin look so healthy & glowy since it has hyloranic acid in it. I use shade 4-5 medium when I'm freshly tanned & 2-3 light for when my tan has faded. Both shades are great! Highly recommended!"

Another added how this serum even caused them to ditch their designer branded foundation, saying: "Great budget foundation, this is now my go to I switched from YSL all hours and this gives the same effect but it’s much lighter. Love it."

A third remarked: "I really struggle with foundation. I hate it when it's heavy and dries out my skin. This is perfect for me after I've moisturised I use a little bit of primer and then this with some bronzer. Leaves skin hydrated but still with the foundation look. Also nice and light so your skin doesn't feel clogged! So glad I tried this."

While the results were raved about, some shoppers weren't big on the serum's applicator pipette because of the serum's watery consistency - one said: "Love this item but not the applicator! You have to be really careful it doesn’t drip everywhere! Foundation is great, love the coverage and texture."

Other's were disappointed in the lack of coverage it provided being a foundation serum and said: "Well I guess it depends what you are after but is very light weight and barely any coverage." If you're after a serum foundation that has a pump applicator rather than a pipette, Revolution's new Skin Silk is ideal - and we recently tried it. Read more on that here.

Shortly after demonstrating her face base make up, the documentary-maker went on to explain her entire makeup routine to help achieve a gorgeous, natural date night make up that we think it perfect for Valentine's Day. She first shared her favourite brow pencil that 'lasts me forever' - the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Brows Precision Pencil Auburn (£7.99) - before applying her eyeliner that "stays on all day" and "gives the winged liner look but isn't as difficult to do as winged liner". After using the L'Oréal Paris Superliner Le Khol in Pure Espresso (£5.99), she shared the 'most exciting' part of her make up routine - applying her favourite mascara, L'Oreal's Panorama mascara (£12.99), which she says is "incredible" and is also a favourite amongst stars like Rochelle Humes and Kendall Jenner.

She finished the look with L'Oreal's Color Riche Lip Liner Couture in Cristal Cap (£6.99) and the brand's glow paradise balm in Mulberry Ecstatic. Gorgeous!
