Tommy Fury shares painful health battle with new snap as he undergoes surgery
Boxer Tommy Fury shared a snap of himself lying in a hospital bed as he opened up about dealing with his secret health battle.
In the snap posted on his Instagram page, his hand was wrapped in gauze. However, he looked in high spirits as he leaned back on the hospital bed and smiled at the camera. He wrote in the caption: "Since 2019 I have been dealing with a hand injury that I’ve never spoken about/shared online.
"Since my third professional fight, I have been trying to manage this injury, training and fighting through extreme pain which led me to often not being able to use my right hand at all. For the last four weeks of my last camp I trained solely with my left hand until fight night.
"This morning I underwent the surgery I’ve been putting off for years as I know this is the only way my hand will heal and that I can move forward with my boxing career. I’m excited for my recovery journey and so ready to be back feeling and giving 100% in 2024."

It comes almost a month after Tommy goaded his former opponent KSI by trying to get him to pay his dad John £250,000 after losing their boxing fight. Love Island star Tommy handed KSI the first defeat of his boxing career when they fought in Manchester back in October.
The decision was appealed by KSI but the only action taken was it being changed from a split decision to a unanimous decision in Fury's favour after a scoring error. At the time, KSI bet Tommy's dad John £250,000 that he would beat his son before the fight, but according to Tommy, the YouTube boxer hadn't kept up his side of the deal.
Tommy mocked KSI for throwing a tantrum after his loss and slammed him for not sticking true to his pre-fight bet. "Pay me dad the £250,000 you cheapskate," Fury told SportBible about KSI.
