Luke Litter ’s girlfriend has been left amazed by the darts sensation’s first-ever senior success after overcoming Michael van Gerwen in the final of the Bahrain Darts Masters.

The 16-year-old continued his stunning success from this month’s PDC World Championships. He enjoyed another dream run this week - this time in Bahrain where he took on Van Gerwen in Friday night's showpiece.

Littler eventually ran out the victor after a titanic 8-5 success. He also became the youngest player ever to hit a nine-darter on TV in a sensational leg against Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals.

His girlfriend Eloise Milburn took to social media in the aftermath of his latest success with words of support. Writing on her Instagram story, she said: "You never fail to amaze me! And omggg a nine-darter. Wish I could have seen it in person! So proud."

Littler’s girlfriend was not the only one to send a congratulatory message. His beloved Manchester United also gave their verdict on his success.

Taking to Twitter alongside a picture with Littler at Old Trafford, the Red Devils wrote: “Congratulations to United fan @LukeTheNuke180 on winning his first senior @OfficialPDC title on debut.”

Littler does not have a lot of time to relax before he steps up to the oche once more as the Premier League Darts kicks off next month. Speaking after the victory in Bahrain, he struggled to put his victory into words.

Speaking with ITV, the youngster said: “What have I done? You tell me. I don’t know. I’m happy to win. Earlier on in the quarters, I hit the nine-darter against Nathan. I played well tonight.”

Littler also claimed that he hadn’t prepared for his trip to Bahrain after his PDC World Championship whirlwind earlier this month. "No-one believes me but I hadn't thrown a dart since the world final until yesterday," Littler added. “MVG is the very best and I'm just very happy to win on my debut. It's been unbelievable this week."

“I haven’t really set any goals this year. I didn’t expect to pick up this trophy this week. It has been good to come here, with great people, a great crowd on my side. I am just happy. There are no goals this year, I’ll just see what my darts do.”

Elsewhere, Littler’s beaten opponent Van Gerwen offered some kind words alongside a cheeky warning after his defeat. The Dutchman said: “It's never going to be a good week when I'm not winning but Luke had a fantastic performance.

"I couldn't produce what I produced in the earlier games and you get punished and that's the way sport works. Of course I'm disappointed but you win some, you lose some. I'll get him, don't worry."
