EastEnders death news leads Sam Mitchell to life-changing DNA discovery
EastEnders aired some sad death news on Wednesday night, and it lead to a DNA bombshell coming to light for one character.
The Mitchells were left devastated in the latest episode of the BBC soap, as they learned a relative and a soap favourite had died. Aunt Sal passed away offscreen, with Phil Mitchell learning the news about his aunt over the phone.
He then shared the sad news with his family including sister Sam Mitchell, cousin Billy Mitchell and his son Ben Mitchell. As the family reeled from the news, Phil returned home with Sam, Ben and his wife Kat Slater.
Phil opened up about Aunt Sal and her loss with his loved ones, going through some photos as they all shared memories of her. They also touched on her last visit to Walford, which saw her attend the funerals of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell in 2017.
But after Sam got off the phone with Sal's husband Harold and promised to take care of everything ahead of Monday's funeral, she soon made a big discovery. Phil told Sam that they would cover the cost for the funeral, with Sam also offering up the club as the venue for the wake.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessPhil left the room and confided in Kat about the news, and how it made him realise family was important. It encouraged him to seek out ex Sharon, and try and spend time with his son Albie - who he only found out was his biological child on Christmas Day.
But as he spoke about it to Kat, one of the few people who know the truth, Sam walked in and overheard. Discovering the huge DNA twist, she shouted out: "Albie's yours? Since when?"
As Phil explained how he'd only learned the truth himself weeks ago, Sam reeled over the fact that she had a secret nephew in Walford. She then asked Phil what he planned to do about it, with him clearly wanting to see his son.
There's another big discovery for Sam ahead though, as spoilers for next week reveal that Harold confesses to her that Aunt Sal has left £100,000 to her, Phil and their brother Grant. She soon sets about blackmailing Phil for her share, could she tear her family apart?
