Manchester United got back to winning ways on Monday by beating League One side Wigan 2-0 in the FA Cup at the DW Stadium.

United, who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in their most recent game, eased to victory thanks to goals from Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes. It's a welcomed result for Erik ten Hag, with his team eighth in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils are also out of Europe and the Carabao Cup, placing extra importance on the FA Cup. Their poor form could persuade Ten Hag to act in the transfer market, but who are United interested in? Here are the latest transfer rumours from Old Trafford...

First January signing close

United are on the verge of signing Scottish goalkeeper Callan McKenna, according to the Daily Record. The 17-year-old stopper, who has represented his country at youth level, is enjoying a breakout season with Queen's Park - making nine appearances to date.

The Red Devils will pay less than £1million for McKenna's signature, but that will become a seven-figure fee if performance-related add-ons are met. The emerging talent, who was also a target for Premier League rivals Arsenal, will join United's U23 squad.

Although McKenna's move to United will limit his first-team opportunities in the short-term, he isn't currently in Queen's Park's starting XI after dropping to the bench. Queen's Park currently play in the Scottish Championship, the country's second tier.

News of McKenna's arrival comes ahead of Andre Onana's trip to the Ivory Coast to play for Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations. Onana will miss NO United games if Cameroon are knocked out in the group stage, but he could also be away until February 11.

According to The I, Onana will miss Cameroon's AFCON opener against Guinea on Monday to play in United's game against Tottenham the previous day. United's No.2 Altay Bayindir will deputise for Onana after he joins up with the Cameroon squad.

Five players set for loans

Who do you think Manchester United should sign in January? Let us know in the comments below!

United will make five players available for loan this month if their injury crisis eases, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. Young midfielders Hannibal Mejbri and Dan Gore are after first-team opportunities, and so is 20-year-old striker Joe Hugill.

Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri, who is yet to nail down a spot in United's starting XI, is another player set for a loan move. According to the Daily Mail, Eredivisie leaders PSV and Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy want to borrow the 22-year-old.

The fifth player available for loan at Old Trafford is Jadon Sancho, who hasn't played since falling out with Ten Hag in September. The England star, 23, is in talks to return to his former club Borussia Dortmund to regain his form ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany.

Keane slams Hojlund

Only Sheffield United (15) and Burnley (20) have scored fewer goals in the Premier League this season than Ten Hag's side (22). Their terrible record comes as no surprise considering how poorly Rasmus Hojlund has done in front of goal since his arrival.

The 20-year-old striker, who was signed for £72million from Atalanta in August, has scored just one goal in 18 domestic outings for United. Hojlund has scored five times in the Champions League this term, but he needs to start delivering in the Premier League.

Roy Keane raged to ITV after United's win against Wigan: "I wanted to see another United tonight. With (Hojlund), he is missing chances. We can say 'unlucky' all day. They’re creating chances, just put it in the back of the net, stop messing about."
