Paul Scholes destroys Jesse Lingard with savage social media response
Paul Scholes has torn into Jesse Lingard for ‘f***** about’ in the gym instead of finding a new club.
The former Manchester United star is still without a club over six months after his release by Nottingham Forest. He has been linked with a host of moves, none of which have materialised.
The ex-West Ham loanee has attempted to keep potential future employers updated with his fitness regime with a series of posts on social media. Lingard’s latest offering shows him using various pieces of gym equipment.
Scholes could not resist chiming in with his brutal take on Lingard’s latest social media activity. The Man United icon wrote: “Are you just gonna f*** about in the gym or are you gonna actually play football?”
Lingard has not played a game of football since his final appearance for Nottingham Forest. That outing ironically came against the Red Devils during a two-minute cameo in a 2-0 reverse at the City Ground.

Lingard was also linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the summer. He went on trial with Al-Ettifaq but a contract offer was not forthcoming. Speaking about his future in the summer, the ex-England international said: "I'm considering all options.

"I've never ruled any team out, any club out, so for me it's just picking the right team that's going to be right for me - I just want to play football at the end of the day, that's all I want to do.
"The project's got to be well-suited for me, the team's got to be going in a good direction. Literally, it's just regular game time - I'm still hungry, working hard out here...
"Saudi Arabia are doing big things, and in the next year or so it will be one of the hotspots to go to. I'm not really surprised that loads of big names are moving out there. Obviously it's something I'm going to consider as well, I've not ruled that out either - like I say, it's just got to be right for me at the end of the day."
Lingard made 232 appearances for Man United during his stint at Old Trafford. In that time, he scored 35 goals and helped the club win the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup.
