Former The Only Way Is Essex and Celebrity Big Brother star Megan McKenna has hit back at comments criticising her cooking and her portion sizes.

Whilst Megan is known for her reality TV stints and her successful country singing career, she's also built an army of food fans after she regularly shares her tasty looking recipes in the kitchen. Usually cooking up a storm for footballer fiancé Oliver Burke and making gluten free versions for herself, her recipes have become so successful she's now launched her own cookbook.

However, not everyone has been keen to see Megan's cooking, with some comments on her culinary creations criticising the portions and even one labelling it as "a heart attack on a plate".

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Megan responded to one comment in particular which said: "I'ma. good 9.5 stone slender ish woman and I love food but I couldn't eat a whole plate of any of the meals on here. They look great but no one needs that much on a plate...My partner would struggle".

The former TOWIE star then told her followers: "What do you expect me to eat? Do you expect me to sit there and literally dish up like a cracker and three strands of spaghetti? Because it's just not going to happen and that would be classed as unhealthy.

"What I dish up is healthy. I've always eaten big meals for my dinner and I think any human being should be able to eat a fair sized nice big portion for dinner. Different if I'm like scoffing my face throughout the day."

She continued as she responded to another comment slamming her portions as "a heart attack on a plate", where the country singer fumed: "I can guarantee the people that troll my posts, about my food and my portions and stuff, do not eat good food. I can imagine they just sit in and eat junk food. It's crazy.

"I would love to know what people eat. I would love to know what people think the right amount is for their dinner, because I've literally just eaten one chicken breast and a pile of pasta. So it's a bit worrying, but is it because I'm slim and some people think I should just be living on a breadstick - gluten free - cos it baffles my mind."

This isn't the first time Megan has been forced to hit back at troll comments, as in October she spoke up against those who criticised her for tucking into a huge takeaway. She told her followers she was going to "eat like a pig" as she shared a video of herself with a plate full of curry, rice, potatoes, popadoms, salad and chutney.
