Two British tourists have been injured in a triple stabbing on a seafront promenade in the Moroccan tourist resort of Agadir.

The knifeman ran into the sea and attempting to dodge arrest by swimming away from the scene before being caught and taken into custody. Police are investigating whether the incident is terrorist-related. The two Brits attacked are a couple enjoying a Christmas break, reports suggest.

The 33-year-old suspect is understood to have been jailed three years ago for drug trafficking offences. The British holidaymakers have been described as a couple and the third victim - a Moroccan woman - is said to have been visiting from Belgium.
