Boss thrills 200 workers by handing them a whopping £8million Christmas bonus

Turns out, Christmas miracles do exist.

At least they do for lucky workers at one firm, who discovered a staggering £8million bonus would be divided by nearly 200 staff. Generous bosses gave out the big cash bonanza after the company successfully met its targets in developing 20million square feet of office, retail and warehouse space - and employees were totally gobsmacked.

Video footage of the festive do shows employees' reactions after they're each handed a red envelope during a work Christmas dinner. Depending on the amount of time they had worked at the company, workers were given around £38,000 each - which one person branded 'life-changing'.

Workers couldn't hide their joy after the monster bonus

St John Properties was founded in 1971 by Chairman Edward St John. Starting off as a 'local real estate developer' it is now one of the 'largest and most successful privately held commercial real estate firms in the Mid-Atlantic region'. The boss said he wanted to make a 'significant' impact on the lives propping up its success'.

John, who revealed the bonus to thrilled workers, said he wanted to 'reward' his employees in a 'big way'. He added: "I'm thankful for every one of our employees, for their hard work and dedication. I couldn’t think of a better way to show it. I may steer the boat, but they're the ones that run the boat. They are the ones that make the boat go. Without the team, we are nothing."

Heartwarming footage from the 2019 do shows just how much the money meant to the hard workers. In fact, one employee said: "What happened tonight was magical. It is life-changing."
