Petrol and diesel prices are continuing to fall - but drivers are still being urged to shop around to get the most value for money.

The RAC said the average price of petrol fell by 7.5p a litre to November 146.95p. However, the motoring organisation has warned drivers are paying 10p more a litre than they should be, due to retailers not passing on the benefit of the 5p cut in fuel duty that has been in place since March 2022.

The average retailer margin per litre of petrol was 17p in November. In terms of diesel, average prices fell by 7p on average last month, to 154.40p - but the RAC argues drivers are paying 5p more than they should be.

RAC data shows the average UK price of petrol today is 145.08p and for diesel, the average is 152.55p. Supermarket averages come in slightly lower, at 141.50p for petrol and 149.79p for diesel.

To help you find the cheapest place, comparison website and app PetrolPrices has rounded up average pump prices across all the major fuel retailers today - including the supermarkets. You can find the full breakdown below, which also includes BP and Esso.

Of course, these are just average figures - your local petrol station might be showing different prices to what we've listed below. To find the cheapest prices where you live, you can enter your postcode on the PetrolPrices website or app.

A spokesperson for PetrolPrices said: “We would encourage motorists to regularly review prices in their area to ensure they are getting the best price at the time they need to fill up. It is worth comparing prices against where you live and your destination.

“You can regularly find quite high difference between towns that are only a few miles apart. It is also worth looking at loyalty schemes and vouchers for money off fuel.”
