Where to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas
Christmas is almost here, which means it’s time to kick back with some festive films and get well and truly in the seasonal spirit. What better way to do that than with Tim Burton’s stop-motion classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas.
But as a bizarrely twisted tale, is it a Halloween film or a Christmas film? For many, it’s both. The 1993 musical offers a unique blend of the macabre and festive, making it the perfect film for both Halloween and Christmas.
The film centres on the fantastically dark world of Jack Skellington, the King of Halloween Town. Bored with the same old spooky routine, he longs for something more and soon one day finds himself in the magical, cheer-filled land of Christmas Town.

But it is elevated by its stellar soundtrack from regular Burton collaborator Danny Elfman, who serves as composer and the singing voice of Jack Skellington in beloved songs like This Is Halloween and What’s This?
Now 30 years old, the film has become a staple of both the spooky and festive seasons for many and is often featured in lists of the best ever Christmas films. Last year, Empire readers voted it the sixth best Christmas film of all time, behind films including Die Hard, It’s a Wonderful Life and The Muppets Christmas Carol.
So if you want to take a trip to Halloween Town for some dark festivities, here’s how you can watch The Nightmare Before Christmas at home.
