Roy Keane left in disbelief by damning Man Utd stat after latest defeat
Manchester United legend Roy Keane could barely believe one particularly damning statistic about Erik ten Hag's Red Devils reign.
It has been an underwhelming start to the season for United, who sit seventh in the league table having lost six of their opening 14 games. Their most recent outing ended in defeat, with Newcastle toppling Ten Hag's side 1-0 at St. James' Park courtesy of an Anthony Gordon winner, though the Magpies could have inflicted far more damage.
Reflecting on that dismal United display on Super Sunday, Keane was part of a punditry team that also included Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards. The trio were shown a graphic highlighting United's recent away run against clubs in the top nine on the league table.
From the start of his tenure last summer, Ten Hag's United have picked up just one point against those sides. In 12 games, 11 have ended in defeat, with the single point coming in the form of a 2-2 draw at Tottenham in April of this year.
Keane's reaction to the stat said it all, with the ex-United midfielder claiming: "That doesn't look real. Is that real? It looks ugly. That looks ugly.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dash"It's just the amount of goals, we were discussing earlier, six at City, seven at Liverpool, four at Brentford. It's not good. They're obviously in a tough place. The manager is under pressure again. There were players playing last night for United and you thought they would have been leaving the club in the summer.

"You're still going back to the same players who've been getting United nowhere fast over the last one or two years. What's the sign of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. This groups not going to change and, as I said, if they're not going to work as hard as the opposition, then you're in trouble."
Ten Hag is currently faced with a number of headaches, with Marcus Rashford out of form, a lack of creativity in midfield and constant scrutiny on goalkeeper Andre Onana after a string of Champions League mistakes. Things aren't exepcted to get much easier for the United either.
In their next four fixtures alone, the Red Devils have games against big-six rivals Chelsea and Liverpool, as well as a Champions League showdown with Bayern Muncich after welcoming Bournemouth to Old Trafford.
