Best Apple Watch 9 alternatives to help you save in the sales
The Apple Watch Series 9 is the newest device in the brand's fleet of smartwatch lines, so it's no surprise to see interest swirling around the piece of wearable tech this Black Friday. As retailers ramp down on their sales there are other alternatives to take a look at if you want to pay the cheapest price, as Fitbit, Garmin and Pixel Watch prove.
In line with Apple's voucher take on the Black Friday shopping sprees, those who head to the online store will get a £40 voucher if they buy the newest Series 9 watch, but it's only valid on your next purchase. Considering the tech starts at £399 it's still a hefty price to pay when you don't actually get any money off the initial price.
John Lewis is one retailer offering a small £20 discount on the Series 9 models, and unlike Apple, this is off the whole price as it drops from £399 for the standard Watch 9 to £379, although we wouldn't urge shoppers to rush to the checkout on this one. It's safe to say the Apple Watch isn't at the forefront of retailer's deals so far this Black Friday but to avoid overspending there are a handful of other wearable tech brands in the discounted aisles - or online pages we should say.

Another find on Amazon's sales is £150 off the Google Pixel Watch, as it's discounted from £339 to £189, one of the biggest price drops in our pick of alternative Apple Watch Series 9 options. It's worth noting that this reduced price is only for select colourways of the model; the Champagne Gold with Hazel Strap and the Silver with Chalk Strap.
Unlike our Fitbit choice, this isn't the newest Pixel Watch to have been launched by Google, as the Pixel Watch 2 was unveiled earlier this year alongside the brand-new Google Pixel 8 and 8Pro phones. If you'd prefer a more updated model then you can add it to a monthly plan at O2.
Garmin Forerunner 45 - £30 off
The Garmin Forerunner 45 may not be as sleek as the newest Apple Watch but its a favourite for sports and adventure shoppers- Currys has reduced the Garmin Forerunner 45 to less than £100
A pick for rugged adventurers or as the name suggests, runners. This Garmin pick may be lacking the stylish design looks but its one of the best running tracking devices out there. And Currys have now dropped the price to less than £100, the discount may only be £30 but it's the cheapest watch on our list today.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 - £50 off
The newest Samsung Galaxy Watch may just be Apple's biggest rival but it has a better offer this Black Friday- Samsung has dropped price of Galaxy Watch 6 by £50 and they'll give you £100 if you hand over old device

That's because Samsung has knocked the price down from £289 to £239 (compared to the Watch Series 9 £399 price) but it doesn't stop there. Samsung will also give old smartwatch owner an extra £100 off the price if they hand in their older model, so if this is you, the Galaxy Watch 6 could be yours for £139.
