Losing weight can be hard. As well as committing to regular exercise, it's important to make healthy changes to your diet in a bid to shift any unwanted pounds. And that was the case for one new mum, Sierra, who decided she wanted to shed some of her pregnancy weight after giving birth.

To help her on her mission, Sierra decided to look for healthy alternatives to replace some of her food choices. Her family frequently dined out at the fast food restaurant Subway, and so on their latest visit, she decided to try something new.

Rather than ordering a sandwich, which the franchise is best known for, she opted to ditch the bread and instead ordered a unique dish made up of lettuce, cold cuts, sliced onions, and some salad dressing.

"Got a sub in a bowl yesterday," Sierra shared, via Kidspot. "It was hard for me to take off the bread and tell them I only wanted the bowl with meat and onions. Though, I did it. My addiction to food for so many years is hard to break - every step counts."

Little did she know, her dinner decision would cause quite a stir online as some are 'disgusted' by it. One person pointed out, "Eating in moderation is always good and all, but if we look at it a little logically, having everything you would eat just without bread is a little silly. And that meat looks like raw chicken."

Another person chimed in, saying, "They sell this stuff in the grocery store too - cheaper and cleaner with a better variety." And a third said: "Is this not just a salad? And is that chicken raw?"

But other people were quick to come to Sierra's defence and offer their support. "Some people don't understand small decisions like this with food are difficult! It might seem like a small step for some, but I know how hard it is," one empathised. A second shared, "I get this, make a chopped salad out of it, and put it on low carb tortillas."

It comes after a mum revealed she had shed a whopping seven stone after overhauling her food choices, and ditching the Subways. Laura McCormack, who tipped the scales at 17st 10, dropped from a size 22 to an 8 in just five months.

The mother-of-two never used to eat breakfast and for lunch would always choose convenience food, like Gregg's or Subway. "Dinner was always just what I could throw in the oven and come evening I would eat sharing sized packs of crisps to myself," she admitted. "But now I ensure I have a healthy breakfast daily which is cereal or porridge with fruit. Lunch is a salad sandwich, soup, or pasta.

"My evening meal is always so varied but includes homemade meals with chicken, potatoes and vegetables or homemade spaghetti bolognese, chilli or curries. I used to wear a size 22 but now much happier in a size 8 and now love clothes shopping.

"I used to walk to work which would take around 40 mins but now it takes 25 as my fitness levels are great. My job I stand for long periods of time, and I used to struggle with leg and back aches. I no longer have this either, so my everyday working life is now easier."
