Harry and Meghan haven't been short of a few awkward moments

Life in the spotlight is never easy even for seasoned professionals such as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with many an awkward moment just waiting to happen.

The former Royal couple proved this with their recent opening of a new veteran centre where Meghan was seen ushering Harry along in front of the watching crowd. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the United States Navy SEALs in San Diego for the official opening of a new training facility, known as the 'West Coast Warrior Fitness Programme'.

Meghan had to lightly pull Harry forward before they watched Foundation CEO Robin King cut the ribbon. Harry seemed to be slightly preoccupied during the visit, which came after the couple said they had "no contact" from King Charles about his upcoming birthday. Harry was pictured with a glum expression, which was in stark contrast to his smiling wife.

Here we take a look at other awkward moments the couple have publicly endured since embarking on a life in the public eye.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are featured in the new series of the hit cartoon satire. In the episode, main character Peter Griffin compares himself to the couple as he sits with a group of friends at a bar. Speaking to his pals, Peter tries to think of ways he can get money he's owed.

He then comes up with the idea to "go it alone", just like Meghan and Harry did when they stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020. The scene then cuts to the Sussexes sitting by a pool in their swimwear.

A butler waits on the couple and hands them "millions from Netflix." As he hands them the money, the butler tells Harry: "Sir, your millions from Netflix for... no-one knows what." Harry then replies: "Put it with the rest of them."

As the butler rushes off, Meghan gets a notification on her phone. "Babe, time to do our daily $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco," she says to her husband. In an apparent dig at the Royal Family, Harry replies: "I shouldn't have left the made-up nonsense."

Meghan reportedly believes the "savage attack" from Family Guy creators was "totally unfair" and she's "desperate" to fix the couple's reputation in the States.

Sources close to Meghan and Prince Harry have claimed the episode was an "outrageous slur" as well as being unfair and has left them feeling like "they're not being taken seriously by people." The insider added to Closer that they feel like "they can't catch a break" after being caught in the "attack from inside Hollywood."

King Charles' birthday snub

Claims are rife that Harry and Meghan were snubbed by King Charles over his 75th birthday. The party will be at Clarence House and will include the King's closest friends and family. Reports suggest that Harry and Meghan will not be among that intimate invite list.

It had originally been reported that Harry was invited to the family event, but declined the invitation. Now, reports suggest that he and Meghan were never actually asked to come in the first place.

Both Meghan and Harry were among thousands of fans of Beyonce who stepped out to watch her show on Friday September 1 in Los Angeles. While Meghan appeared to be having the time of her life as they took in the spectacular show, Harry appeared to be a little less enthralled by the extravagant display and look glum-faced for much of the show in a stark contrast to his wife.

They did however share a dance and a kiss for some of the tracks but Harry couldn't help but appear a little out of place - especially as he seemed to be wearing his wife's jacket in order to fit the silver-themed dress code.
