Dillon Danis names Paddy Pimblett as potential opponent for UFC debut
Conor McGregor's teammate Dillon Danis wants to fight UFC star Paddy Pimblett in his potential debut for the promotion.
Danis has called for UFC boss Dana White to sign him following his controversial boxing match against YouTuber Logan Paul last month. The multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion barely threw any punches for five rounds before he was disqualified for trying to choke Paul unconscious, which led to a brawl breaking out in the ring.
"My UFC debut against Paddy Pimblett would be quite the show, the buildup alone would be electric! And if we want to add some fun, we could be coaches on The Ultimate Fighter and have our fight at the end. Imagine the entertainment that would generate. Let's give the people what they want and make fighting entertaining again," Danis tweeted.

Unfortunately for Danis, White didn't give a very convincing answer when he was recently asked about the possibility of signing Danis. "I don't know, I haven't even actually thought about that,” the promoter said. Danis hasn’t competed in MMA in over five years but has repeatedly tagged White in social media posts to try and secure a move to the UFC.
Logan Paul and KSI announce new partnership with UFC president Dana WhiteDanis sparred with former UFC champion Alex Pereira before his fight against Jan Blachowicz in July as the Brazilian also helped Danis prepare for his fight with Paul. Pereira wants to see Danis in the UFC, insisting: “We did two night sessions, one before the Blachowicz fight which was MMA training and another one for this fight he was having with Logan.
“First, we did an MMA session and I could see that he’s a very talented kid. We had two night sessions. He’s a great guy and the fact that he’s actually in negotiations with the UFC, or trying to get in, I think is awesome and I’m rooting for him.” UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley also wants to see Danis in the octagon, even if it is for one fight.
“I want to see it,” O’Malley said on The MMA Hour. "Give him one fight, give him the best, give him whoever you want to give him. He loses, [cut him]. I’d like to see him in the UFC, give him someone on pay-per-view, f*** it. It could be a no-name. Imagine he goes out there and subs some dude."
