Lorraine Kelly was left stunned on Thursday's episode as daughter, Rosie, who is currently in California, surprised her famous mother live on air.

During the latest episode, Lorraine, 63, was speaking to LA Correspondent Ross King when he said: "Can I just say one thing, we were talking about earlier on the strike being over, people out here celebrating... and there's a young starlet who has been out celebrating already... here, look..." to which Rosie, 29, appeared on screen.

Lorraine was left gobsmacked as she put her hand on her mouth, squealing: "Oh my gosh, hi Rosie!" to which Ross, 61, quipped: "If your mother finds out what you're doing... you're in trouble!" Rosie then waved to the camera and said: "Hello!" with Lorraine replying with: "What happens in LA, stays in LA, I'm glad you're having a good time, love!"

Rosie then hilariously said: "Yeah, I'm going to go to bed now!" with Lorraine replying: "You go to bed because it's very very late! I'm sure that you've been out doing lovely things, reading books, not going to nightclubs and all of that!" Rosie then danced off screen to which Lorraine added: "Ross, thank you for looking after her, that was great! Thank you Ross, thank you so much, oh she's having a blast my daughter!"

Elsewhere on the episode, Lorraine shared her reaction to John Lewis' highly-anticipated 2023 Christmas advert, which was released on Thursday 9 November.

During Thursday's episode of her hit ITV chatshow, Lorraine, 63, was joined by her show experts as they all shared their verdicts. The new tear-jerker advert sees Snapper the Venus flytrap take a starring role after little boy, Alfie, purchases a seed to grow the "perfect Christmas tree" but instead gets Snapper.

However after Snapper grows too big for the living room and he is dragged out into the bitter cold, Alfie steps outside and offers him a present to which the rest of his family follow suit and embrace the unconventional "Christmas tree".

Talking about the advert, Lorraine said: "What did we all think, I quite liked it!" to which guest Adam Hill said: "So for The Last Leg tomorrow night, you know they release a five or ten second trailer, so we did a thing where all of us on the The Last Leg wrote our predictions of what the advert was going to be from the trailer. Not one of our predictions is as bonkers as the actual advert!" to which Lorraine replied: "It is quite bonkers, I have to say!"
