James Haskell says he 'threw out' Richard Madeley for 'stress-free' Christmas
James Haskell has shared details of his Christmas spent with father-in-law Richard Madeley this year.
Richard's son-in-law James Haskell, who is married to his daughter Chloe Madeley, appeared on Wednesday’s instalment of This Morning.
James told hosts Andi Peters and Josie Gibson Christmas had been ‘good’, in part because Richard was not allowed to cook.
The rugby champ said of the Good Morning Britain host: “He can get quite fiery in the kitchen.”
He went on to recall the first time he met the longtime TV presenter on Boxing Day and the warning his wife Chloe gave him.

James Haskell said the Good Morning Britain host can get 'fiery' (ITV)He said: “I was told he can be a little bit tricky in the kitchen, don’t go in there. Of course that was a red rag to a bull.”
Smiling, he added: “Son-in-law wanting to make a good impression, so I went in there and gave him a bit of chat. He used one of those f-words.”
He continued: “So, this year he was thrown out of the kitchen because we wanted to be stress-free.
“Chloe’s brother Dan cooked an absolute storm and smashed it. Very relaxing. We were looked after like royalty.”
James went on to gush about becoming a dad for the first time, after his wife Chloe gave birth to daughter Bodhi Rae Georgia Haskell via C-section on August 10.
He went on to recall the first time he met the long-time TV presenter (ITV)James said becoming a father has been ‘amazing’, adding: “People talk about love and you have lots of very different relationships in your life and you love in very different ways.
“But there’s something so primal about the love you have for this baby.
“As soon as I saw her on the first scan, I cried like a baby. As soon as she came out, I cried like a baby.
“She can get away with murder. All she has to do is smile at me and I'm the happiest man in the world.”
Richard’s son-in-law James announced that he and his wife Chloe were expecting their first baby during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, as he was described as ‘the best grandfather in the world’.

As the English former rugby union player’s interview in the studio came to an end, he revealed that he had one more announcement to make.
Turning to James, Richard said: “I’m going to talk to you now as your father-in-law. It’s about my daughter Chloe, your wife. What do you want to tell us?”
“Well Richard, Chloe and I are expecting our first child. We’re going to be having a little girl and you are going to be a grandfather once again,” the former I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star responded.
