Two 'out-of-control' dogs attacked three people, with one being rushed to hospital, as the owner has been arrested.

Lincolnshire Police received reports of 'two large dogs' out of control near the Bristol Arcade in Sleaford, Lincs, at 5.51am this morning.

Officers arrived to the scene, where one canine ran away, while another was secured safely.

Both dogs have now been taken into kennels, pending investigations. Meanwhile, their owner, a local woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog. She currently remains in custody.

The police force added that three people suffered injuries, with one taken into hospital for treatment, as they posted an update on their social media, which said: "We have arrested a local woman in her 40s in connection with the incident. Both dogs have been taken into kennels pending investigations. Three people reportedly suffered injuries. One has been taken to hospital for treatment."

Speaking about the incident, neighbourhood Response Inspector Paul Sands said: "We would like to reassure the local community that incidents of this nature in Sleaford are extremely rare. We would also like to thank the members of the public for their help in promptly bringing the incident to a close. Investigations are at an early stage, and we would encourage people to get in touch if they have witnessed the incident."
