A picturesque seaside town located near Edinburgh is popular with walkers as well as some of the world's biggest stars.

With its autumn colours, the tiny fishing village of St Abbs has become a favourite of tourists over the past decade. The coastal town, located on the east coast in Berwickshire, just north of Eyemouth, is famous for its location and sweeping views out to the North Sea.

It is so magical that it has played a starring role in the Marvel Avengers movies and even a popular music video for superstar Harry Styles. The village is said to have been renamed after Æbbe, a 7th-century Northumbrian princess and saint, in the 1890s.

It is a stunning place for an autumn wander and you can take in the beautiful coastal scenery, wonderful views and crisp sea air. Tourists also flock to the nearby Coldingham Bay, which is also worth the time visiting, reports Edinburgh Live.

The nearby St Abbs Head is also home to a Nature Reserve and a thriving seabird colony, making it ideal for bird watchers and wildlife lovers – you can spot thousands of birds including guillemots, kittiwakes and puffins. The striking Lighthouse, which dates back to the 1860s, is another beautiful landmark worth checking out while you are in the area.

In 2019, Scottish cinema-goers were delighted to spot not only Edinburgh itself in Avengers: Endgame but also St Abbs, which doubled as the fictional Norwegian village of Tonsberg and would go on to become New Asgard in the series of films. The scenes filmed there featured a drastically changed Thor and fan favourite Korg, as well as a cameo for Scotland's other national drink, Irn-Bru.

St Abbs' claim to fame doesn't end there, pop superstar Harry Styles also chose the little seaside village as the setting for one of his music videos. The former One Direction star filmed the video for the single Adore You, which shows scenes filmed at St Abbs, as it stands in for the fictional island of Eroda.
