Comedian Sara Pascoe has welcomed her second child.

The host of The Great British Sewing Bee, 42, gave birth recently and the news was announced on the programme's official Twitter page. "Sending lots of love to Sara and her new baby!" the tweet read. In the same post, they announced the show's host for the Christmas Special.

"We're bursting at the seams that Kiell Smith-Bynoe has stepped in to host this year’s Christmas Special and Series 10," they said. Fans rushed to the comment section to congratulate the star. One user posted: "This is very exciting! Lovely news for Sara as well." Another said: "Awww amazing news. Congrats to Sara xx cannot wait for season 10."

"Oh wonderful news and love to sara and her baby," one delighted user commented. She announced her pregnancy with her husband Steen Raskopoulos earlier this year. The actress and comedian dropped her baby bombshell on Instagram with a sweet snap which showcased her blossoming baby bump.

Taking to social media to share the family news, Sara posed in a rainbow-coloured dress which showed off her bump. Her husband Steen looked on top of the world as he beamed alongside her in the sweet mirror selfie. Steen held a beer in his hand as the happy couple smiled from ear to ear in the announcement snap.

She captioned the post: "Here we go again. Eating for two and drinking for no one." After they announced the news, fans and friends rushed to the comment section to congratulate them. "Ah congrats dolly!! (And what a great frock!!)," wrote Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor.

Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse added: "Congratulations lovely." Comedian Anne Edmonds wrote: "Oh wow. Round two. Congratulations!!" Blue singer Duncan James joined: "Awww massive congrats to u both."

Sara and Steen are already proud parents to a son, who they welcomed in 2020 through IVF after being unable to conceive naturally. The star previously opened up about her struggles of trying to conceive naturally. She said to Women's Health: "What bothered me in my thirties was not knowing if I was going to have kids.

"My worry was: my life is really great now, but I don't want to regret [not being a mum] when I'm 50. It was like making a hypothetical decision based on a sadness I hadn't felt yet. The way society ties women's success to marriage and babies weighed heavily on me; I think women are complicit in reinforcing it."
