Iceland is giving away free food to families this October half term

Iceland is giving shoppers free food this half term when they spend over £20.

To get the offer, you need to be signed up to the free Bonus Card scheme, and then scan your card at the tills. The deal is only available in-stores. Some of the items you can get for free include big brand names such as Birds Eye and McCain.

Richard Walker, Executive Chairman of Iceland Foods, said: “While half-term is an exciting time for families when kids get a well-deserved break from school, we know it can also put additional pressure onto household budgets. That’s especially true in October, with Christmas wish lists now firmly on the horizon.

“Through our half-term offers, we’re committed to reducing the tough choices parents have to make at this time of year with our free teatime essential offers, Day out with the Kids Pass and other value deals.”

Separately, shoppers who spend £25 in-store or £40 online can get a free VIP pass by Day Out for three months, which provides over 1,000 discounts on zoos, theme parks, cinemas restaurants and more. This deal is running between October 20 and November 5. Again, you'll need to scan your Bonus Card.

For the second year running, Iceland has also reintroduced its Bonus Card Christmas Savings scheme, giving shoppers an automatic £15 for free when they top up £100 in-store or online by November.

The products you can get free from Iceland are:

• Birdseye Chicken Dippers 12pk (Normally £2.50)
• Birdseye Crispy Battered Fish Fingers 8pk (Normally £2)
• Goodfella’s Stonebaked Thin Margherita Pizza 345g (Normally £3)
• Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Pepperoni Pizz 332g (Normally £3)
• McCain Potato Smiles 454g (Normally £2)
• McCain Lightly Spiced Wedges 650g (Normally £2.75)

It comes after Iceland slashed the prices on over 1,000 products last month to help shoppers during the cost of living crisis. Reduced items include both branded and non-branded products such as Lurpak Lighter Spreadable Butter 400g dropping to £2.75 from £4, Aunt Bessie's Roasties 600g which dropped from £2 to £1.50, and Iceland Chicken Thigh Fillets dropping from £6.50 to £6

The popular frozen food retailer has also doubled the number of items in its "£1 frozen easy tea solutions". These products include things such as Iceland's own brand chicken nuggets, breaded fish fingers, chicken and rice Chinese, fish pie and penne carbonara.
