Carabao Cup holders Manchester United will take on Newcastle United in the fourth round in what is a repeat of last year's final.

Erik ten Hag ended the club's notable trophy drought last term at Wembley and has his side in the hunt once again with a host of the Premier League's main outfits also eyeing the season's first piece of silverware. United will again have to negotiate the Magpies with the fourth round ties to be played in the week commencing October 30.

United's neighbours Manchester City, who had won this tournament four times in succession under Pep Guardiola, will have to wait to lift it once more after they were undone at Newcastle.

Arsenal and Liverpool both secured victories to keep themselves in the mix. The Gunners made the trip across London to take on Brentford, negotiating what was a tricky tie thanks to Reiss Nelson's first-half strike. The Reds had to come from behind against Championship leaders Leicester.

Mikel Arteta's side will face West Ham - seeking their first success in this tournament for 30 years - whilst the Merseysiders take on Bournemouth. Mansfield, the only League Two side still in the Carabao Cup, will face Port Vale, who are flying high in the third tier.

Chelsea have endured a horror start to the campaign but Mauricio Pochettino has found some relief in the cup. His side saw off Brighton, whom they've had plenty of dealings with over the past 12 months, at Stamford Bridge and will take on Blackburn Rovers in west London next.

The Carabao Cup has been won by one of the traditional big six for the past decade and only three times in the last 20 years have they been denied - Middlesbrough in 2004, Birmingham City in 2011 and Swansea in 2013. City and Tottenham, who lost in the second round, are the only two of the big six to be out at this stage.
