Vanessa Feltz's ex Ben Ofoedu claims she ruined relationship – not his cheating
Ben Ofoedu has slammed claims he's a "serial cheat" after splitting from his ex-fiancée Vanessa Feltz.
In February of this year, TalkTV star Vanessa revealed that she and Ben had split after 16 years together due to his infidelity, leaving her heartbroken. Vanessa, 61, was left devastated after the pair called it quits before Christmas after it emerged he'd slept with another woman on several occasions while also messaging fans on social media.
At the time, Ben confessed to the allegations but now, he appears to be backtracking and is insisting that he's not a "serial cheat", despite previous claims. In a new chat, Ben claims their relationship broke down because of his ex, Vanessa.
"There were two people involved, this was my life as well," he said. In a new interview, he went on to add: "Marriage means a lot to me, and I wanted to be married and she didn't want that, so we were going in different directions." Ben claims that marriage was never "on the cards" for the former couple.
He told MailOnline: "She had no intention of marrying me. For me it was important and for her it wasn't. I wish at the very beginning she had said that, but she didn't." He added: "I don't know what was going on in her head. It's a shame we couldn't work it out privately... There was a narrative spun by Vanessa that I cheated multiple times and it's just not true. She has said I'm a serial cheat and I'm like 'What are you talking about?'"
Phillip Schofield mocks Molly-Mae's baby name in cruel swipe at Love Island starBen went on to suggest that his former partner's claims was "cheating in different holiday camps" – which strongly denies. Since their split, Vanessa has since appeared on E4's Celebs Go Dating in a bid to move on from her relationship with Ben. Although the singer believes he's been "objectified" by his former fiancée.
According to Ryan-Mark Parsons, 23, Ben is finding some of her scenes hard to watch. Ryan-Mark, who was the youngest ever contestant on The Apprentice, became pals with Ben after they appeared in a play together. He told OK! Magazine the show had been "the topic of our chats recently" and that there was one particular comment which really jarred him. He said: "What really stood out to Ben was when she said, 'I was happy to love him'.
"He kind of felt like he was an object that kind of existed in her life, that she was happy to be with and exist with. He felt slightly objectified in that way, and he thought it was quite harsh and he felt that was a real punch in the stomach."
The Mirror has approached Vanessa's representatives for comment.
