Keanu Reeves' girlfriend makes rare comment about romance with the 'kind' star

Keanu Reeves is notoriously private about his personal life, but his girlfriend Alexandra Grant has given fans a rare insight into their romance.

The loved-up couple started off as best friends, before going public in 2019. Since then, they've made several red carpet appearances together and recently sent fans wild as they walked hand-in-hand in New York.

While Keanu chooses to keep quiet about their relationship, Alexandra couldn't help but gush over her boyfriend. She said he is "an inspiration to me", before describing him as "creative" and "so kind".

Alexandra said the John Wick star is always helping to push her to achieve more. The couple have even teamed up for a number of projects over the years.

Speaking about her partner, Alexandra said: "What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we're pushing each other to build new roads. Seeing the other person's problem-solving is inspiring, like, 'Oh, well, okay, this one, that's a cul-de-sac. How do I try this other thing?'"

She also opened up about what it's like to have found love later in life. In an interview with People, Alexandra said their was "good news" to starting a relationship as an adult. She explained: "I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun. I feel very confident in the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident on it alone."

Alexandra and Keanu first met at a dinner party back in 2009. While a romantic connection didn't blossom straight away, a business partnership quickly developed. In 2011, Alexandra illustrated Keanu's book Ode to Happiness as well as his 2016 book Shadows. The couple also co-own X Artists Books, which they founded in 2017.

It wasn't until 2019 that the news broke of their romance, but a source hinted at the time that they had actually "been dating for years". The source also said they had fallen "head over heels for each other".

Speaking to US Weekly, they added: "They fit together perfectly, and he really fawns over her when they're together." Another insider told the publication: "They're soulmates and totally committed to the long term, and after all this time together it just keeps getting sweeter."
