If you're a purchaser of fast fashion, you'll know that sizing can be a little inconsistent between stores, and even between products in the same store - and that's putting it lightly.

No matter where you shop, it's unlikely that you'll be the same size in every shop, which can leave you frustrated and wondering whether your body is the problem. Newsflash - it's not, and never has been.

One eagle-eyed Primark shopper Hayley Quinn took to her @itsbabyh page on TikTok to show that she'd spotted two skirts had the same size waistband - but they were size 8, and 18.

Please note, the video below contains strong language.

Hayley tagged Primark in her TikTok caption, writing: "You're lacking heavily, this is why I have trust issues."

In the video, Hayley shows a size 8 denim skirt to the camera and then walks over to a size 18 on the hanger, in a slightly different style, comparing the waistbands.

When they're compared one in front of the other, the sizes are alarmingly similar. Hayley turns around and says: "They're the same f***ing size. Primark, how are you doing?"

In the comments, people were horrified at the lack of difference between the sizes.

One woman fumed: "Primark forever contributing to body dysmorphia all over the world."

Another wrote: "Primark sizing has become wack. Especially the denim! I'm size 10 in one pair and a 16 in another?!"

Someone else said: "I have three pairs of trousers from there, one is a 16, the other is an 18 and the last is a 20. They are the exact same size. I no longer blame my body."

A TikToker tried to say that the reason the sizing was different was due to the fact that 'one is elastic and one is denim', but Hayley replied: "That doesn't explain five sizes."

"I could write a whole 12 marker about how wrong this is", a fuming consumer wrote.

A Primark spokesperson said: ‘"The fit of our clothing is really important to us and we are always working with both our suppliers and technologists in our quality team to ensure consistency.

"We continue to fit our designs using Size UK data as standard but always encourage customers to get in touch with us if they have concerns about sizing and we will happily look into their query."
