During Microsoft's Tokyo Game Show broadcast the company announced a number of Xbox Game Pass titles, including one of Novembers biggest games as a day one launch.

While Tokyo Game Show is never the biggest show for Xbox, the event included some great announcements for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. First up was Capcom, which revealed that the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy will be arriving on Xbox Game Pass next week on Tuesday, September 26.

This collection remasters the original GBA and DS trilogy (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice For All, and Trials and Tribulations) with remastered visuals and controls. Not only is this a good chance for players to experience one of the greatest trilogies in gaming, but it also gets you ready for the sequel trilogy – Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy – which arrives on Xbox on January 25, 2024.

But Capcom wasn't the only third-party to make a major announcement for game pass as Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio appeared on stream to talk about the upcoming titles Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. During this segment, it was confirmed that Like a Dragon: Ishin! – which launched in February – will be arriving on Xbox Game Pass before the end of the year. But that wasn't all, as RGG Studio also confirmed that Like a Dragon Gaiden will be a day one Xbox Game Pass title when it launches on November 9, 2023.

Like a Dragon Gaiden follows former series protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, and explains what he was doing following his going into hiding at the end of Yakuza 6, what he was doing behind the scenes during Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and what kicks off the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. I previewed Like a Dragon Gaiden at Gamescom, alongside interviewing RGG Studio chief producer, Hiroyuki Sakamoto about the title. Despite my reservations about Kiryu coming out of retirement, Like a Dragon Gaiden seems like one of the most exciting entries since 2020's Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

As with most Xbox Game Pass releases, these titles will remain on the service for the foreseeable future, with most titles getting a year on the service. The entire Yakuza / Like a Dragon series is on Xbox Game Pass for the time being, so if you want to catch up there's always that option.
