Glaring sign Hugh Jackman's marriage was in trouble before announcing divorce
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced they have separated after 27 years of marriage on Friday but there were signs their relationship was in trouble before they confirmed their split.
The pair had listed their 'dream" home for sale back in January. They had also rented out their USD$3.5million holiday home in The Hamptons, New York, for an impressive USD$166,666 a month in winter according to the New York Post. Hugh, 54, and Deb, 67, had spent six years renovating the property to make it exactly what they wanted.
In 2021 Deborra-Lee told Architectural Digest: "This was my lifelong dream. It's like, bucket list, tick it off. I've done it, and I loved it'." The 460sqm property has five bedrooms and five bathrooms and is in the lavish East Hampton locale. The residence features a private gym, a home cinema, a hot tub and a swimming pool.

Overlooking the water, it also has a guesthouse with two bedrooms, and a bar. In the main property the luxurious kitchen has Gaggenau appliances and the dining room features a hand-carved walnut table. All three bedrooms in the main section of the home have ensuite bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling glass doors.

One insider has claimed that Hugh and Deb's marriage was left broken by the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the ongoing writers' strike has added to the situation.
They told DailyMail.com: "They are forever linked, forever together with the children they have. But after the past few years, the love they had for each other turned more into a friendship which got broken during COVID, as the lockdown didn't help their marriage at all and really put a strain on their relationship.
"They worked on it and couldn't get it back. The strikes haven't helped one bit, it got them in the same predicament as COVID did, to where they were just kicking the tires, and Hugh found it all to not have the same magic as they once had. Deb had similar concerns and thoughts and separating is the best option."
The couple - who share son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18 - made a joint statement to announce their split on Friday. They told people: "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
"Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives. This is the sole statement either of us will make."
