Amy Winehouse's ex husband Blake Fielder-Civil has admitted to mistakes, but insists he's not to blame for Amy's death.

Amy passed away back in July 2011 at the age of just 27, leaving the music world in mourning over the great loss. Blake and Amy met back in 2005 at a pub and got married soon after, with their relationship being described as on and off.

Some fans have accused Blake of being responsible for Amy's death after he admitted she started taking heroin because he was taking it, but during a chat on Good Morning Britain today, Blake explained he made mistakes but he is not to blame.

Speaking to Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, he said: "She was my best friend and we were married obviously. We had our issues and if there weren't certain factors, things would be completely different.

"It would have been a completely different relationship and a different outcome. Aside from the obvious ones that everyone knew about like the addiction, fame in itself at a young age is hard to deal with and also I think everything happened quite quickly for Amy and I at the time. A lot of people make mistakes when they are young, normal things people learn when they get older; not knowing how to conduct themselves, not knowing how to pace yourself."

Blake feels he's blamed for Amy's sad death - and feels he's the only member of her close friends and family who have taken accountability for what happened, but he understands that is people's opinion.

"That's one of the reasons I wanted to speak today. I do [get blamed] and that's ok. I can't change what other people feel about that, but for me personally, I needed to stop carrying that burden. I've carried it for over 10 years," he added.

"I'm the only person within that story that's ever held any accountability, I tried to say I made some huge mistakes. I was a 20 something old drug addict. I had no idea how to make myself clean, let alone someone else. There were vested interests in Amy carrying on performing too. The fragility is what people connected with in the albums."
