Coronation Street actress Sally Carman appears to be enjoying intimate quality time with her co-star and husband Joe Duttine as she takes time out of her busy role.

Taking to her Instagram page, the 42-year-old Abi Franklin star delighted her followers after she posted several fun snaps from her adventure in London, including a loved-up selfie with Joe and a picture where she stood gleefully in Trafalgar Square. The wholesome photos also show Sally and Joe exploring restaurants and bars in the city.

Alongside the pictures, she wrote: "Had a lovely couple of days in London with this handsome fella,’ Sally wrote, alongside the carousel of photos. ‘Big shout out to the sun for showing up." Fans inundated the star with compliments on her gorgeous style and hoped she's having a good break.

One person said: Looking good Sal..it’s been roasting in Donny! (For a change! Lol) have fun." Another one of her followers added: "I hope your having a great week!" A third person penned: "It looks as if you were abroad ... gorgeous photos."

Sally has played Abi Franklin in Coronation Street since 2017, while her husband Joe has played his character Tim Metcalfe since 2013. In July 2022, the pair decided to tie the knot at a lavish wedding ceremony in Salford, Manchester.

Recently, the TV star shared she has taken up a role behind the cameras in an exciting announcement to fans on social media. The star said she will direct a stage production that will appear in JB Shorts Festival at Manchester’s 53 Two venue in October.

Sally shared her good news on Instagram with a poster from the production as she said: "Very happy to be directing @lindsaywilliams8900 piece for the mighty @jbshortsplays this October at @53two. It runs from the 3rd to the 14th - be good to see you." Despite working away from her Corrie cast mates in her new role, they've turned out in support for the star and promised to come down and support her later this year.

Her fellow soap cast mates congratulated Sally on her exciting news, including Toyah Habeeb actress Georgia Taylor who wrote: "Love this! I’ll definitely be there." While her husband commented a series of clapping emojis. Actor Anthony Crank, who plays Dean Turnbull in the soap, wrote: "I’ll defo come support youse xxx". Rachel Leskovac, who played Natasha Blakeman, added: "Already booked."
