Jonnie Irwin has opened up on his difficult home decisions as he is flooded with support from fans.

The A Place In The Sun star, 49, shared he is undergoing a huge home renovation following his terminal cancer diagnosis. He was given six months to live back in 2020 when he was told he had lung cancer, which has since sadly spread to his brain. Jonnie has been sharing many updates with fans about himself and his family on his Instagram page.

The presenter shares children Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac with his wife Jessica. His young family are currently dealing with work taking place in their home. Jonnie gave an update to his fans from outside their house. He captioned the video: "Decisions decisions…#renovation."

Jonnie said in the clip: "Quick update on the project. That portaloo is stinking. The portico is massive, really taking shape. The cladding is also on – I’m loving that big open window. It will make all the difference to the design. You’ve noticed the cladding, we wanted cladding but I didn’t wanna pretend it wasn’t a 1960s building, but if you take a step back, that there is a window."

He added: "The builders are going to love me, but I think it needs to be full height or it looks a bit half-a**ed. So that’s a conversation I’m gonna have to have, they seem quite open to it at the moment. This is going to be all solid wood but it’s gonna have a doorway in it. I’m quite pleased with that design. I’m getting decision fatigue at the moment but it’s exciting now, things are going up instead of getting ripped off, it’s all very positive."
