We all love a cup of tea, but the drink is also known to cause arguments around what constitutes a good brew, such as how much milk to use, whether to add sugar, and even what type of mug to drink it out of.

And one man has caused a stir on social media after he shared his latest tea creation, as he decided to make a whole pint of tea in a rather unconventional manner - as he brewed it in a measuring jug.

The man posted a picture of a Pyrex jug full to the top with tea, and asked people in the CasualUK forum on Reddit what they thought of his oversized brew.

He wrote: "How do we feel about a pint of tea?"

And his post was met with mixed reactions, as while some said that no amount of tea is "too much", others branded him a "heathen" for his methods - especially as he'd chosen to ditch the traditional teapot.

One shocked commenter wrote: "There is something very wrong about this, use a teapot you heathen!"

Others were flabbergasted at the idea of having tea in a glass container, and joked it felt odd to "see the sides" of the brew as you would normally only view tea from the top when it's poured into an opaque mug.

Someone said: "Seeing the sides of tea makes me uncomfortable."

As another wrote: "Coffee in a glass I can accept. TEA?? Absolutely not."

There were also comments from people who said they felt "perplexed", and "mildly unsettled" about the idea of a pint of tea, while some said the brew would go cold before they managed to drink it all.

But not everyone was against the man's controversial take on tea, as many also said they didn't see a problem with it.

One said: "No amount of tea is too much, as long as you get the ratio of milk and sugar (if needed) to tea correct."

While another added: "Acceptable."

Meanwhile, another man caused a stir over tea this week when he admitted to mixing his types of tea when making a pot of tea, as he used two teabags from different brands.

Understandably many fellow Brits were appalled by the idea and were quick to brand the man a "psychopath" and say he was committing a "hate crime".
