A woman who went viral on social media after sharing how she embraces her 'lazy eye' has slammed vicious trolls who have told her to "stay off the road" after passing her driving test with flying colours.

Elley Davies, from Pembrokeshire, Wales, was diagnosed with strabismus in her left eye when she was a child, and is now around 80% blind in her left eye, while her right eye works overtime so she can see.

The 19-year-old model continues to live her life to the fullest though, and recently passed her driving test on her first try after "dreaming" about being able to drive for "so long".

Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: "I passed my driving test on the 8th of February. Passing felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders, it’s something I’ve dreamed of for so long. So the thrill and freedom was unbelievable!

"I had a feeling I was going to pass as my instructor was honestly amazing at calming me down. From overthinking situations too much, and believing in myself was my only fault when it came to driving in lessons.

"My instructor knew I would pass, he always told me I was an amazing learner to teach and he knew I wanted this so bad."

And despite having aced her test on the first attempt, Elley has still found herself the target of cruel comments from trolls after she shared the news on social media.

In a video, Elley counted down the hours until she received the results of her test, and the comments were inundated with nasty people telling the women to "stay off the road" and making vile jokes about her eye.

But the woman is a pro at handling the comments she receives, and has insisted she can brush it off because she knows that everyone is facing "insecurities".

She added: "When I passed I did a before and after test video, counting down the hours until the test and then the last clip was me holding the certificate.

"The video has over one million views, with people commenting 'stay off the road' or the usual eye joke comments and people asking how I can drive, just stupid questions and comments. There are also [comments] like 'she turns left to go right' and 'bog eye' - the same old comments.

"I'm okay with hate because there are people who just don't understand what it's like to have a visible insecurity, we all have them, mine just happens to be out on show, which makes them think they've got the advantage to judge."

Meanwhile, Elley previously said she isn't considering surgery for her eye, as she's "scared" of the procedure.

She explained: "Surgery is another scary thing I'm afraid of, and not only because of the procedure.

"I've accepted that I will look like this forever. And I'm okay with that if I do look like this forever. I've accepted that I'm happy, I'm breathing, I'm walking, talking, I'm living - just like any other normal person, it's irrelevant."
