Floyd Mayweather will take on Aaron Chalmers in his latest lucrative exhibition fight tonight.

Boxing legend Mayweather has not fought as a professional since beating Conor McGregor in 2017 but he has been taking on a new series of exhibition fights which has included against the likes of YouTube stars Logan Paul and Deji. His latest outing will come in London against former Geordie Shore star Chalmers who has previous experience fighting in both MMA and boxing.

Mayweather will be hoping to entertain the crowd in trademark fashion, with a KO the only viable route to have his hand raised in the showcase event. Chalmers will hope that a good performance can set up a whole host of other fights, having previously called out both Jake Paul and Tommy Fury.

Quotes corner

Mayweather: I want him to believe in his skills, believe in himself. I had my first fight in 1987, everything I ever dreamed about, I was able to do. I went to the Olympics, I fought the best, I was world champion in five different weight classes. I’ve seen everything but you can never overlook a guy or underestimate a guy.

"He believes in his skills and talent. My job is to entertain and do what I do. I don’t have to have fast hands or feet. The proof is in the pudding. I’m a pioneer of being a boxer, I’m an entrepreneur. I’m playing chess in the real world. I’m truly blessed. I can’t take my opponent for granted. It’s entertaining. Everyone knows when Floyd Mayweather wants to change the pace, he can do it."

Chalmers: “I haven’t really got many nerves,” Chalmers said. “Even seeing him today, there’s not many nerves. I’m just going to enjoy myself because this is a no-lose situation for me, in any way, shape, or form, so I’ve got nothing to lose. It’s one of these situations where, what’s the worst that can happen? What, he’s going to beat us up?

"I know I’m going to get punched in the face numerous times. I can handle that. I’ve been elbowed, kneed, and kicked in the face — it doesn’t bother us. So for me, it’s just about going in there and just being as quick and as sharp as I possibly can. You never know, he’s a bit older now — a jab may catch him and just give him a little bit of a shock.
