Aaron Chalmers is hoping to secure a two-fight deal against Jake Paul which would see the pair box each other before rematching in MMA.

Chalmers, 35, has spent most of his combat sports career competing in MMA but won his professional boxing debut against journeyman Alexander Zelodon last June. The former reality TV star, who is mostly known for appearing on MTV's Geordie Shore. is scheduled to face boxing legend Floyd Mayweather on February 25 in an exhibition fight at The O2 arena.

'The Joker' has big plans this year as he recently sat down with PFL Senior Vice-president James Frewin about potentially fighting Paul, who signed a deal with the MMA promotion last month. Chalmers has a good relationship with the PFL and is keen on setting up two fights against the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who plans to make his MMA debut later this year or at some point in 2024.

“I’m well in with the PFL who Jake signed for so we’re going to have a sit down when they’re in Newcastle. I’m going to be doing a bit of work with them in March and we’re going to see if we can come up with something to get a double crossover fight between me and Jake in MMA and boxing," Chalmers told Express Sport.

“It would be huge because Jake’s bread and butter is boxing and mine is MMA so it makes for an interesting two bouts. I was just speaking to James [Frewin] from the PFL yesterday and I said, ‘what’s the chances’ and he said, ‘after the Floyd fight it’s definitely something we can look at putting together’. If we can get me and Jake done for later in the year in boxing then we can do it again around Christmas time in PFL.”

Chalmers would likely give up a considerable size advantage against Paul having competed at around 160lb throughout his combat sports career, whilst most of Paul's fights have taken place at 190lb. Questions have been raised as to whether Paul will compete for the PFL with a grudge fight against KSI expected to take place later this year, but Frewin revealed the American is obliged to fight for the promotion as part of his contract.

"It’s in his contract, Jake is going to fight in the PFL Smart Cage," Frewin told GiveMeSport. "When? To be confirmed, but he will fight in the PFL. We’re going to be in the UK, France, Germany and Ireland in December, so all options are on the table. We could see Jake competing in the UK or somewhere outside the US."
