Liberty Poole thriving in birthday snaps one year after being held at knifepoint
Love Island's Liberty Poole looked happier than ever as she celebrated her birthday after moving forward from her horrific knifepoint ordeal last year.
In May 2022, Liberty revealed she and fellow co-star Kaz Kamwi were enjoying a holiday in Los Angeles when a woman 'came out of nowhere' and threatened them. Following the incident, the reality star said it was "terrifying" and the woman became "really aggressive" when she approached them while they had their phones out, filming the views around them.
Thankfully, two men jumped to their defence while a passerby quickly phoned the police. The situation made her realise that "life's too short". And now, over a year after the ordeal, Liberty took to her social media page to share snaps from her 24th birthday celebrations.
Liberty captioned the carousel of sweet photos of her enjoying a hot drink at a café: "It’s MA BIRTHDAY!! 24 can’t believe it it’s a Saturday and I’m having a chilled one. Is this what growing up is? [laughing face emoji] This is gonna be a good year I can feel it! Love to all."
In the photos, Liberty looked out of this world in a pink cap and a white and pink oversized sweatshirt. She completed the look with a gorgeous pastel pink purse. Fans and friends, including Millie Court, Kaz Kamwi, Chloe Burrows, and Emily Faye Miller wished her a happy birthday with sweet wishes in the comment section.
Love Island star grabs her tummy as she strips off to reveal 'imperfections'Last year, Liberty opened up about being held at knifepoint while on Vicky Pattison 's The Secret To podcast. "Obviously, that was a hard experience with Kaz but, I’m quite a resilient person and I always try and see the positive in stuff and I think that, at that moment in time, that was obviously that was scary, because we were just videoing the street and this woman literally came out of nowhere and started getting really aggressive," she said.
"She was getting more and more aggressive and coming closer and closer and closer and it wasn’t until the knife dropped on the floor that I thought, we’re in a situation here. It was terrifying, but I feel like a lot of good came out of that situation because, when you’re in a hard situation like that where it’s life-threatening, it puts things into a lot of perspective and, I think, from that, I’ve learnt life’s short."
Following the terrifying incident, Kaz and Liberty took to social media to assure fans of their safety. Kaz said: "We wanted to jump on really quickly and say thank you to all the messages we have received."
