Prince Harry may have once been the "best of friends" with his brother Prince William, but that's now a thing of the past.

The siblings have had a very fraught relationship in recent years and things have only gotten worse in recent months. The Duke of Sussex has hit out at his brother a number of times, even accusing William of leaving him terrified during the Sandringham Summit.

It's also been reported that William is unlikely to meat with his brother for "peace talks" in the near future. King Charles' former Royal butler Grant Harrold said Harry and William now have a "non-existent" relationship. The 45-year-old worked with Harry and William when they were in their late teenage years and early twenties. He said he "liked the way they got on with each other."

Grant explained: "They were always having fun together and having banter. They played practical jokes and wound each other up, but it was harmless. They were best friends and they had the same friends, too."

The Prince of Wales would often be seen spending time in the pub with his brother Harry. Grant remembers it as being a "great time for them."

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, Grant recalled: "I remember going to the pub to meet them once. When I arrived, they called my name, I turned around and they were behind me. They were both very sociable boys."

He added: "And that's what's so sad about it now, how they've gone from best of friends to non-existent really. They have become so distant. I know quite a few of Harry's friends, who don't hear from him at all now either."

Prince Harry stepped back from the Royal Family back in 2023, before moving to America with his wife Meghan Markle. The couple now live in Montecito, California, with their two young children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Since stepping back from The Firm, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a number of career successes, most recently with Harry's Heart of Invictus documentary. The series dropped on Netflix earlier this week and has been well-received by fans.
