Man Utd shirt numbers available for Sergio Reguilon ahead of Tottenham transfer
Sergio Reguilon could be handed Manchester United ’s number three shirt once he arrives at Old Trafford - but it would rely on players leaving before the deadline.
The Spanish defender is at the heart of loan interest from the Red Devils ahead of Friday evening’s deadline. Tottenham would be willing to let him move after sending the left-back to Atletico Madrid last season.
A deal has already been agreed between the two sides and it only appears to be a matter of time before he officially becomes a Red Devil. Once he makes a move to Old Trafford, Reguilon will then have the task of picking his shirt number - and he has plenty of options.
The 26-year-old has donned the number three shirt during his time with Spurs, whilst he also donned the digit during his loan stint with Atletico Madrid. He was also given the number three shirt during his most recent inclusion in the Spanish national side - Reguilon having six caps to his name.
Unfortunately, the number is not available at the current time. Eric Bailly is the current occupier of the shirt but could leave it free should he complete a move away from United.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dashThe Ivorian is some way down the pecking order at Old Trafford and has been linked with a permanent exit throughout the summer. It was previously reported that the Red Devils were potentially open to letting him leave on a free transfer.

One of Reguilon’s most recent shirt numbers is also not available. His final season at Real Madrid and his loan campaign with Sevilla saw him claim the number 23, but that shirt is currently in the possession of Luke Shaw, who appears unlikely to be on the move any time soon.
That could see Reguilon plump for a slightly different option at Old Trafford. The number four shirt is currently open following Phil Jones ’ exit in the summer, whilst the Spaniard could even go for number 13 if he’s not the superstitious type.
Further available squad numbers include 15, 26 and plenty of digits from 30 onwards. Reguilon’s arrival is unlikely to be the last bit of business that the Red Devils are attempting to secure on deadline day.
They have also reopened talks with Fiorentina regarding a deal for Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Meanwhile, a move for Reguilon also appears to have put paid to Man United’s move for Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.
The Red Devils were linked with a loan move to Old Trafford. It appears that United would be unlikely to pursue a swoop for both.
